FAQ

I haven't been on a bike in years, does that matter?

All riders are assessed on their ability, no one is asked to do anything beyond their capabilities. As long as you can confidently ride a bike you will be fine.

Are bikes provided?

We can provide bikes of all sizes.

Are your coaches and guides qualified?

All coaches / guides are qualified mountain bike leaders (MIAS) standard. This is a coaching and leadership qualification.

Do your coaches and guides have first aid training and insurance?

All of our coaches and guides are qualified in first aid and insured through The Association of British Cycling Coaches.

Are your coaches and guides cleared to work with young people?

Along with the relevant qualifications and insurance we request that all instructors / leaders undertake a CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) check, this is a necessity to allow them to work with young and vulnerable people.

Can I bring my own bike to a coaching session / guided ride?

You can bring your own bike however it will be checked over first by the coach / guide, if it is not mechanically sound or unsuitable for the terrain you will not be able to ride it.

We operate a no helmet no ride policy on all coaching / guided rides.

What is the ratio of group to coaches / leaders?

This is dependant on the size of the group and the number (if any) of teachers / supervisors present.

What type of trails do you take people out on?

We are based in Delamere Forest, Cheshire. The trails range from fire road to muddy single track and depending on the ability level of the group natural obstacles such as rocks, streams and tree roots.
